Licence for use of content

Unless otherwise specified, your use of the course materials on this website is subject to our Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license. You may share (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format) and adapt (remix, transform and build upon the material) for any purpose, including commercially, as long as:

  • you attribute the reuse: you must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate whether changes were made. Please credit our material as the “risk-engineering.org course materials”.

  • you share alike: if you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.

The Creative Commons licence does not apply to the Risk Engineering logo. It does not apply to third-party content that we have reused (mostly pictures and figures); third-party content is attributed explicitly and its licence specified.

Privacy policy

We respect your privacy. We do not collect any personally identifiable information about you, unless you send it voluntarily, such as by sending an email to our contact points. This means our site services comply with the European General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

This web site does not use HTTP cookies. We have switched from using Google Analytics 📊 to a web analytics tool called GoatCounter (hosted on our site) that collects basic web analytics without using any cookies. The Twitter news feed included as a sidebar on some pages of this site is provided thanks to nitter.net, to avoid Twitter’s numerous invasive tracking cookies. Video embeds on the site use the Invidious frontend to YouTube to avoid Google’s tracking cookies.

Third-party photos, images and figures on our web site are generally credited on the page in which they appear.

Third-party photos, images and figures used in the course material are credited either on the slide where they are used, or on a Credits slide at the end of the document or presentation.
